Our press brake department is a critical part of Malach’s fabrication operations, supporting accurate forming and bending of components used across a wide range of customer and internal projects.

Your Impact:

As a Brake Operator, you play a key role in transforming laser-cut and fabricated parts into finished components that meet exact dimensional and quality requirements. Your work directly impacts part accuracy, fit-up, downstream assembly, and overall production efficiency. This is a hands-on production role focused on the safe and efficient operation of CNC press brake equipment, consistent quality output, and adherence to established processes and standards.

Primary Areas of Responsibility:

CNC Press Brake Operation (Day or Evening Shift):
  • Safely set up and operate CNC press brake machines in accordance with work instructions and schedules.
  • Select, install, and verify correct tooling, dies, and back-gauge setups.
  • Load and unload parts using appropriate material handling techniques.
  • Verify correct programs, materials, and bend sequences prior to operation.
  • Monitor machine performance and part quality during operation.
  • Perform basic operator-level adjustments and troubleshooting within scope of training. · Communicate equipment, tooling, or process issues to the Production Lead, Supervisor, or Maintenance.

Quality & Process Control:
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet drawing specifications, bend angles, and tolerances.
  • Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, angle gauges, and protractors. · Accurately complete production and quality documentation as required.
  • Identify non-conforming parts and follow established quality procedures.
  • Maintain consistent standards for part identification, traceability, and housekeeping.

Safety & Compliance:
  • Follow all Malach safety policies and procedures, including press brake guarding, light curtains, two-hand controls, and PPE requirements.
  • Operate equipment in accordance with safe work practices and training.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and required training.
  • Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Teamwork & Continuous Improvement:
  • Work collaboratively with other operators, leads, and supervisors.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to assist in other production areas as required.
  • Actively contribute to a respectful, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Previous experience operating CNC press brake equipment in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and bend notes.
  • Basic understanding of materials, forming processes, and quality inspection methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with specific press brake controls or brands (e.g., Amada, Bystronic, Cincinnati, or similar).
  • Forklift or material handling certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working in a multi-shift production operation.

Working Conditions:
  • Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. or Evening Shift as scheduled.
  • On-site, hands-on manufacturing role.
  • Exposure to press brake equipment, tooling, noise, and materials.
  • All work performed in accordance with Malach safety policies and procedures.
