About Us:
Malach Metal and Machining is a Manitoba based manufacturer known for precision, craftsmanship, and reliable service. We take pride in the work we produce and the people who make it possible. Our team driven culture values safety, continuous improvement, and strong working relationships. We believe in creating an environment where people feel respected, supported, and equipped to grow their skills.
Our team works in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment where communication, accountability, teamwork, and doing the job right matter. We are continuing to grow our customer base and are looking for an energetic sales professional who is excited by the challenge of finding new business, starting conversations, and turning opportunities into long-term partnerships.
Your Impact:
As an Inside Sales Representative, you will play a key role in growing Malach's business by identifying prospective customers, making outbound calls, booking qualified sales appointments, developing new opportunities, and building strong relationships with both prospective and existing customers.
This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys sales.
You are comfortable picking up the phone and making the first introduction. You do not get discouraged by hearing "no." You are naturally curious about a customer's business, confident asking questions, and motivated by finding the next opportunity.
Success in this role comes from consistent activity, strong follow-up, relationship building, and a genuine drive to move opportunities forward.
Why This Opportunity Matters:
Growth does not happen by waiting for the phone to ring.
This role will help Malach proactively build its sales pipeline, introduce our manufacturing capabilities to new customers, reconnect with past opportunities, and create meaningful conversations for our Sales team.
You will have the opportunity to build relationships from the ground up and see the direct impact of your work as prospects become customers and customer relationships continue to grow.
We are looking for someone with initiative, persistence, confidence, and a strong sense of ownership. Someone who sees a lead and thinks, "I'll find a way to get the conversation started."
Primary Areas of Influence:
Outbound Prospecting and Cold Calling:
- Make consistent outbound calls to prospective customers within identified markets and territories.
- Research and identify potential customers that align with Malach's manufacturing capabilities.
- Confidently introduce Malach, our capabilities, and the value we can provide.
- Navigate gatekeepers and identify appropriate decision-makers.
- Use phone, email, LinkedIn, and other approved methods to develop new contacts.
- Maintain a disciplined prospecting schedule and activity level.
- Follow up persistently and professionally with prospects who are not yet ready to buy.
Appointment Setting and Lead Development:
- Turn prospecting activity into qualified appointments and sales conversations.
- Identify customer needs, challenges, upcoming projects, and potential manufacturing requirements.
- Ask effective discovery questions to determine whether an opportunity is a strong fit for Malach.
- Schedule meetings for the appropriate Sales team member when further technical or commercial discussion is required.
- Ensure Sales leaders have appropriate background information before scheduled customer meetings.
- Follow up after meetings to maintain momentum and ensure agreed actions are completed.
Customer Relationship Development:
- Build professional, genuine relationships with customers and prospective customers.
- Maintain regular communication with assigned accounts and prospects.
- Learn about each customer's business, products, purchasing cycles, challenges, and future requirements.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships and introduce additional Malach capabilities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries.
- Become a trusted and reliable point of contact for customers.
Sales Pipeline Management:
- Maintain accurate prospect, customer, opportunity, and activity information within the company's CRM or sales tracking system.
- Track calls, emails, appointments, follow-ups, opportunities, and next actions.
- Maintain an active pipeline of prospects at different stages of development.
- Prioritize opportunities based on potential, timing, customer needs, and probability of success.
- Ensure leads do not become inactive because of missed follow-up.
- Provide regular updates regarding sales activity, opportunities, challenges, and upcoming priorities.
Lead Generation and Market Development:
- Research target industries, companies, markets, and potential accounts.
- Identify new contacts and decision-makers within prospective organizations.
- Support targeted campaigns and business development initiatives.
- Re-engage previous customers, dormant accounts, past inquiries, and previously quoted opportunities where appropriate.
- Identify emerging customer needs or market opportunities and share information with the Sales team.
- Help continually strengthen Malach's prospect database.
Customer and Internal Sales Support:
- Work closely with the Director of Sales and broader Sales team to support customer growth.
- Coordinate internally when customer questions require input from Estimating, Engineering, Production, Quality, or other departments.
- Support the movement of qualified opportunities into the quoting and sales process.
- Maintain professional communication throughout the customer journey.
- Ensure commitments made to customers are communicated internally and followed through.
- Contribute to a customer experience that reflects positively on Malach.
Sales Accountability and Continuous Improvement:
- Take ownership of individual sales activity and agreed performance targets.
- Review prospecting results and adjust approaches when necessary.
- Learn from unsuccessful calls, objections, and lost opportunities.
- Participate in sales meetings, coaching, training, and development.
- Continuously improve product, manufacturing, and industry knowledge.
- Share market intelligence and customer feedback with the Sales team.
- Look for better ways to create conversations, qualify opportunities, and strengthen customer engagement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate will bring:
- A genuine passion for sales, prospecting, and speaking with people.
- Confidence making cold calls and initiating conversations with people they have never met.
- Strong ability to build rapport quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Natural curiosity and the ability to ask thoughtful questions.
- Persistence and resilience when faced with rejection.
- Strong follow-up habits.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach to work.
- A competitive mindset with a strong desire to achieve results.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative Sales team.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple prospects and follow-up commitments simultaneously.
- Comfort working toward measurable sales activity and performance targets.
- Ability to learn technical information and communicate manufacturing capabilities in an understandable way.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn CRM, ERP, Microsoft Office, and other business systems.
- Professional judgment and a customer-first mindset.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in inside sales, business development, customer development, outbound sales, or a related role is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with cold calling, prospecting, appointment setting, or lead generation is strongly preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial sales, metal fabrication, machining, OEM sales, or B2B environments is an asset.
- Experience using a CRM or structured sales tracking system is an asset.
- High school diploma required.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is an asset.
Most importantly, we are looking for the right sales mindset.
A candidate who has less industry experience but demonstrates initiative, confidence, persistence, curiosity, and a genuine desire to build a career in sales may be a strong fit for this opportunity.
What Success Looks Like:
Success in this role means you are consistently creating activity that leads to opportunity.
You are:
- Picking up the phone rather than waiting for leads to arrive.
- Consistently adding qualified prospects to the pipeline.
- Booking meaningful customer appointments.
- Following up when you say you will.
- Developing contacts into relationships.
- Learning enough about prospective customers to identify where Malach can help.
- Keeping your pipeline organized and moving.
- Building credibility with both customers and the internal Sales team.
- Contributing measurable new opportunities to Malach's growth.
The Person We Are Looking For
We are looking for a go-getter.
Someone who sees a list of 50 prospects and gets excited about figuring out which one will become the next Malach customer.
You enjoy the hunt, but you also understand that great sales is about relationships. You are comfortable making the cold call, but your goal is not simply to make calls. Your goal is to start conversations, earn trust, uncover opportunities, and build relationships that last.
You are persistent without being pushy, confident without being arrogant, and competitive while still being a strong team player.
Most importantly, you take ownership. You do not wait to be told who to call next. You find the opportunity and go after it.
This is the kind of Inside Sales person we want on the Malach team.
